Gold MedalThe 21st Winter Olympic Games are over, but the memories will last a lifetime. For the last 17 days, the athletes of the world have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of excellence. The Canadians won Gold in “The Most Important Game in the History of Hockey” by edging past the Americans in overtime. Apolo Ohno won a record breaking 8 medals in short track, and the Americans regained the Gold in the men’s 4 man bobsled after waiting over 60 years! We witnessed heartbreaking failures, redemptive triumphs and unbelievable courage overcoming personal tragedy. Win or loose, all athletes demonstrated an unwavering commitment to their country and dedication to their sport of choice.

Few of us will ever have the honor of representing our country in the Olympics, but what about our personal passions in life? AreĀ  you willing to commit your life to something greater than yourself? Perhaps it’s your career, your hobby, your faith or your favorite charity. Have you faced adversity or outright failure? Are you willing to get up one more time, dust yourself off, and strive again for the gold? Are you willing to do what it takes to be the best you can be? Compared to the excitement of the Olympics, our goals may seem modest, but whether it’s being the best parent to your child, or creating the best place to buy Egyptian Cotton products, your success is predicated on getting up each morning determined to give it your all.
