Enjoying an Allergy-free Night

Having a child with allergies can be extremely difficult, especially if those allergies are severe. If your children are very sensitive to the chemical additives in standard sheets, for example, they could suffer from hives or other allergic reactions every time they try to sleep on that product. If it’s severe enough, this could even keep them from sleeping properly, and as such, the problem needs to be dealt with.

If that’s the case, you have two major courses of action. One, you can wait and see if the allergy gets any better. Sometimes allergies are only present when the child is very young, and they will eventually grow out of it. But if the symptoms are too severe, or they don’t seem to be growing out of their reactions, your next course of action is to purchase non-allergen sheets. For their bed, purchase some Twin size Egyptian cotton sheets. The higher quality cotton shouldn’t elicit any negative reactions.

Following a Budget on Your Travels

If you’re interested in world travel but you’re on a budget, it can be both fun and frustrating. Scrimping and saving and cutting corners wherever you can on a vacation can lead you to some pretty interesting stories and experiences you wouldn’t normally have. But there’s also times where you want nothing more than to be able to afford that hotel so you can actually enjoy a bed and a real shower.

So if you’re looking to take a trip but want to save some pennies, the best way to go is to make a thorough budget before you leave. Plan how much you’re going to spend on food, lodging, gas, and souvenirs, and stick to that budget. If, at the end of the trip, you’ve actually been fiscally responsible, treat yourself on the last night of your journey. Book an exorbitantly luxurious hotel with your extra savings. The hotel will seem all the more ritzy when you consider that you’re sleeping on Egyptian cotton sheets sets, and the night before you were sleeping in the backseat of your car in a dark and sketchy rest stop.

What Are Cal King Sheets?

Yao MingAnyone who has ever looked into purchasing sheets has probably come across the confusing issue of King sheets. Many people think King sheets come in one standard size, but that is not actually the case. After purchasing King sheets and finding they don’t actually fit on your bed, you’ve probably become aware of the difference between Eastern King and Western King. Eastern King is sometimes referred to as Standard King, while a Western King is alternately called a California King.

The basic difference is that the Standard King will provide four inches of extra width, while Cal King sheet sets provide four extra inches of length. This makes Cal King sheets ideal for the very tall individual. But be aware that a Cal King bed is approximately 72” wide, while a Standard King is 76” wide. If you feel you absolutely need the extra width, perhaps a Cal King bed is not the best option for you. It all depends on your body type and desired amount of personal space. But whichever you think is right for you, just be aware that there are two different types of King sheets with two different sets of dimensions.
